First group of the season finished yesterday with 23 salmon in total. Like we say in Iceland "We are in the clouds" because we are so delighed with this wonderful start. I think we landed 17 salmons on the upper beats and we cannot remember catching salmon in that many pools that early before.
I reality the group only manage to fish one and a half day out of three in total. On the 22nd of June it started to rain, we are not used to this kind of rain here in Iceland in June but this is something we have always needed. Suddenly all this water came down from the highlands and people who have fished here for many years started to fall in the river and cars got stuck in places that usually are easy to cross. This made fishing difficult but still we manage to land few extra salmon. For the last day the sun started to shine and while I write this the sun is still shining.
Attached is a photo of three fresh salmons.
