103 cm salmon landed yesterday
This opening group has experienced all kinds of weather and conditions since the 20th of june. In the beginning the river was high and the color was close to chocolate with a dash of stroh in it. Soon after the river started to clear we had good days and one of the best parts is that salmons are being caught in all beats and Green Bank is holding few salmons but it is located around 35 km from the sea. Anglers are even seeing salmons in Alka river but usually we start to see the first salmon there early July.
Yesterday a 103 cm salmon was caught in Birgishylur and this is probably the biggest salmon caught this season in Iceland. On top of that many salmons on the bigger scale are being landed but you can see more details in our fishing report
We are starting the last morning in the opening group and hopefully we add few more to our book but so far this is the second best opening in the past 20 years.
Tight lines and safe releases
